Carson Soucy catches McDavid with a cross-check after the final buzzer 😳

Vancouver’s Nikita Zadorov has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for cross-checking Edmonton’s Connor McDavid.

Vancouver’s Carson Soucy will have a hearing for cross-checking Edmonton’s Connor McDavid. Date and time TBD.

If Soucy gets suspended, then McDavid should get suspended. If Soucy gets fined, then McDavid should get fined. If dangerous use of stick post-horn is something the NHL wants to get rid of, then it should work both ways, particularly with the instigator, right?

Honestly Bettman and the NHL should be thanking the Oilers and Connor McDavid non stop for “growing the Game” Thousands of brand new hockey fans learning about hockey in Vancouver and the suburbs thanks to them.

Zadorov fined $5000 for cross-checking McDavid in the neck from behind. Geez he'll never do that again right? That's like the price of a trip to the diner for an NHL player.

Losing Soucy to suspension would be a big loss for the #Canucks. He and Myers played the most minutes against McDavid last night. Likely means Cole can play his natural (left) side, and right-shot Juulsen draws into the lineup. Then you either go Cole-Myers or Zadorov-Myers.

Well this can’t be good for Carson Soucy’s suspension hearing! Word out of Edmonton is that Connor McDavid has just passed away.

Predictably, supporters of the #Oilers and the #Canucks line up on opposing sides, re the Soucy crosscheck.....likely he will be suspended, but for how long....there is no consistency from the NHL....

Folks, I could t care less if Soucy gets a suspension or not. Honest. But if you’re out there comparing a slash in the shin pads to a cross check in the teeth, you should put your phone down and go for a walk.

#Canucks Soucy has been suspended before. One game back in 2021 for a high hit. The hit was on current teammate Conor Garland. Wouldn't be surprised to see two games for Soucy.
