Jesus Luzardo is better than his numbers but, come on, he had a 5.97 ERA coming into this 8-0 win. It's really hard to be this non-competitive against the lowly Marlins this year. Getting ridiculous that the Mets' offense can be this feeble.

Unable to build off of last night’s win, the Mets fall to Miami 8-0. It’s the first bump in the road for Christian Scott, but the offense continues to be an issue. Jesus Luzardo was great for the Marlins, but the Mets haven’t been able to mount much against many pitchers lately.

This is the 5th time the #Mets have been shutout, the 11th time they’ve been held to one run or less(!!!). That’s 25 percent of their games - they’re 0-11 in all of those games.

Following tonight's 8-0 win over the Mets, the Marlins have recorded three consecutive shutouts for the third time in Franchise history, and the first occurrence since Aug. 17-19, 2005. The only other such streak came from April 13-15, 2004.
