Nike needed to make some changes and cut some costs and they want out of golf. Things worked well while Tiger sas No. 1, but since the 2009 Thanksgiving incident at TIger's Florida home, things haven't been great for Woods on the course.

In an interview with Bloomberg back in 2017, co-founder Phil Knight revealed that in 20 years, Nike lost money on their venture into golf. I think it's fair to assume that the same could be said for their apparel, and it also won't have changed much in the six years since that interview.
