Muddled, vaguely irritating, and somewhat offensive, this un-thrilling thriller moves lifelessly through its story and has a bizarre head-scratcher of an ending. The Ritual Killer comes from director George Gallo, who last gave us the agonizingly bad Vanquish.

"The film is a great film, it's based on a true story," Davis says of The Ritual Killer. "There's a tribe in South Africa who's harvesting body parts. In this film you'll see 'Randoku' as the antagonist...he's tough, he's very skilled and he's really strategic about who he's going after and what he's going after."

Boyd believes that devouring Randoku's eyeballs will help him express his rage at the ritual killer. By eating the eyeball, Boyd will become a better cop, as he will be able to leave his tragic past behind him and receive clarity in exactly how to investigate crimes.

There is this shocking moment where Boyd forces himself to eat Randoku's eyeballs. This could only mean that he wants to gain the power of farsightedness that Mackles explained to him. The ending is somewhat disappointing and unsatisfying. Now that Boyd has eaten Randoku's eyeballs, he has become just like him.
