The band A Flock of Seagulls was formed in Liverpool, England, in 1979 by Mike Score, Frank Maudsley and Ali Score. Mike was a hairdresser when he bought a second-hand Korg MS-10 synthesizer and invited his friends to form the band. Frank played bass and Ali drums, even without prior experience.

Though “I Ran (So Far Away)” was A Flock of Seagulls' biggest hit worldwide, the band's 1982 song “Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)” became their highest-charting single in the UK, reaching No. 10. It was the first single from their second album, 1983's Listen, a Top 20 hit in the US and the UK.

Now a track called 'Bye Gull Bye has been written with the help Dr Madeleine Goumas from Exeter University. It's part of a PR wheeze by Deliveroo and it includes hawk and falcon calls, noises seagulls will certainly steer clear of.

"I Ran (So Far Away)", also released as "I Ran", is a song by English new wave band A Flock of Seagulls. It was released in 1982 as their third single and it was the second single from their self-titled debut album.
