Rain over the last several days has really set the stage for flooding this week/weekend. These upcoming storms over the next few days have the potential to produce tremendous amounts of rainfall in already saturated areas. Keep an eye out for QUICKLY changing flood conditions. 🌊

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for southern Calhoun and Chickasaw Counties in Mississippi. KGWX radar is showing a robust velocity signature with winds to 60 MPH 🚨⚠️⚡️⛈️

More showers and thunderstorms as of 12:30 PM. Some of these storms in the heavier rain shield are producing rain rates around 1” per hour. This doesn’t sound like a lot but soils are already primed and it won’t take much to flood, especially if storms are moving slowly! ⚠️⚡️⛈️

9am The system of showers and t'storms are approaching from the west, which will make the day wet before tapering off in the afternoon. Strongest storms look to stay to the south of the TN/MS line, but flooding is possible in some areas due to consistent rainfall. /LN

An active weather pattern continues. Heavy rainfall on saturated soils may lead to localized flooding. For today: Storms are likely to arrive this morning (as early as 6 AM) and redevelopment is possible. Severity of later rounds may be effected by the morning round.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning continues for Jackson TN, Oakland TN and Bolivar TN until 3:30 PM CDT. This storm will contain wind gusts to 70 MPH!

Thunderstorms have increased in intensity over the last 20 minutes. Strongest storms will be capable of producing large hail and strong winds.

Shower and thunderstorms continue to impact portions of the Mid-South this afternoon. Severe storms capable of damaging winds and large hail will continue into the evening hours. Continue to send in any storm / flooding reports. ⛈️
