The History of McDonough
McDonough, Georgia is a city rich in history, dating back to its founding in 1823. Named for naval officer Commodore Thomas Macdonough, the city was built on the site of a Creek Indian village. Early residents were mostly farmers, but the city soon became a center for trade and industry.
