The Grammy-winning rapper/singer took to Instagram to share her new song “Masc” which is set for release on Friday (April 5) on Scarlet 2: Claude Frollo. Along with “Masc” seven other songs, including “Acknowledge Me,” “Head High,” “Gang,” “Rider,” “Urge,” and “Hungry” will be on the deluxe edition.

As a teenager in 2012, Doja Cat gained her stage name from one of her cats as well as her favorite strain of marijuana, stating, "I was heavily addicted to weed and weed culture, so when I began rapping I thought of the word 'doja' and how it sounds like a girl's name."

The track samples Dionne Warwick's 1964 song "Walk On By". In the lyrics, the rapper dismisses her critics and asserts her own identity following arguments with fans on social media.
