It was an honor to visit the grave of Private First Class John S. Greenfield, a proud Delaware native who fought for our country during World War II. We will never forget his sacrifice.

When history is written about our time years from now, let us be the generation that saved democracy in our time.

Our democracy is only as strong as all of us make it together.

History tells us that freedom is not free. If you want to know the price of freedom, come here to Normandy, or other cemeteries where our fallen heroes rest. The price of unchecked tyranny is the blood of the young and the brave.

The brave service members who fought on D-Day became heroes. They knew beyond any doubt that there are things worth fighting and dying for. Freedom is worth it. Democracy is worth it. America is worth it. The world is worth it. Then, now, and always.
